Greg Howes is a genealogist, writer and historical researcher based in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK. Greg has lived in Wales for the last twenty-nine years, though originates from Thame in Oxfordshire, England.

Gre's work as a researcher has seen him present (and research for) family history programmes on television for both the BBC and ITV channels. He appeared on programmes featuring Pam Ferris, Paul Daniels and Michael York, and has researched for many household names. He has taught family history and featured on national and local radio stations answering questions and giving advice on family history, writing and the historical landscape. Greg specialises in Welsh and UK family history research.

He has written many articles for various magazines on subjects as diverse as local history, dating old photographs, and the history of woodland and ancient trees in the landscape.

Greg is also a writer of Gothic historical fiction/mystery and suspense tales. His first novel is based around a mysterious Victorian photographer, and is called "The Man Behind the Glass." This was published in 2015. His second novel "The Movement of Light" a sequel to the first novel, was released in 2018. He has also written a short and illustrated Gothic Romantic tale based in Picton Castle and gardens near Haverfordwest called "The Maidenswell Folly" published in 2017. His latest publication (released this year 2019) is collection of short stories called "A Sense of the Other and other strange tales" two of which are based in fictional locations in Pembrokeshire.
